DOLCE
VITA 2007
This "white wine" from red grapes has rather more
colour than the previous vintage, due to the drought induced
colour intensity in the skins. It is better described as a "Rose".
The process involved removal of free run juice at the crusher,
then slow cold fermenting as a white wine.
This hand picked and hand made wine may be enjoyed at any time,
where a "white" may be considered. |
SAUVIGNON
BLANC 2008
The coming of rains during the spring growing period produced
lush foliage which we controlled to provide the optimum shade
level for this Sauvignon Blanc; hence achieving full aromas
and flavours characteristic of this grape variety, placing this
wine amongst our best.
The grapes were hand picked on February 1st on a mild morning
(15°C), crushed immediately and fermented under controlled
cool conditions.

CABERNET
SAUVIGNON 2006
This vintage, drought-affected and low yielding, has produced
a wonderful ruby colour and varietal flavour. The ripening period
was warm and dry; the grapes were hand picked by our regular crew
of family and locals on March 24, 2006, then traditionally open fermented.
Cellaring potential 8 years, if you can wait! |

PINOT
NOIR 2008
This year's Pinot responded magnificently to the welcome Spring
rain, followed by a mild and dry ripening period. The grapes were
hand picked and immediately started in open fermentation. As usual
we have given only limited time in Oak, so as to highlight the distinctive
Pinot nose and palate.
Ready to drink upon release, but would cellar well for 5 years. |

ALFRESCO
RED 2007
We chose Shiraz again as the base for this "light red".
The lower alcohol makes it ideal for lunchtime, or drinking and
sharing with friends any time, anywhere.
Commitment to the environment and organic growing by Michael and
Jan is reflected in this luscious easy drinking red. |

SHIRAZ
2006
This Shiraz was grown on our daughter Kim's block, managed under
our ACO Certification.
The intense varietal colour and fruitiness is a product of Mudgee
Terrior, and the nature of hand working and a chemical free environment.
The grapes were hand picked, commencing dawn March 6, 2006 at the
end of a perfect ripening period.
Cellaring potential 8 years, if you can wait! |

VINTAGE
PORT
We named the luscious Shiraz based Vintage Port in belated honour
of Father James Dunphy, who lost his life aged 30 years, June 17th
1845, when swept off his horse attempting to cross the flooded Cudgegong
River, at the present location of our Martins Hill Vineyard.
Fr. Dunphy was at the end of a 4 day ride from the settlement of
Hartley, Western edge of the Blue Mountains, to administer Last
Rites to a parishioner.
To His Memory. |
